Overview
The Atlas Six is a dark-academia fantasy trilogy by Olivie Blake, comprising The Atlas Six (2020), The Atlas Paradox (2022), and The Atlas Complex (2023). Six young magicians with wildly different specialties, from physical manipulation to time and memory, are recruited into competition for five permanent places within the Alexandrian Society, an ancient, secretive order that guards a vast archive of lost and dangerous magical knowledge. Only after they are admitted do the candidates learn that keeping their seats requires eliminating one of their own number, forcing alliances, betrayals, and moral compromises among characters who each believe their own research is too important to lose. The trilogy was originally self-published by Blake in 2020 before being acquired by Tor and reissued with a wider release, becoming one of the more prominent examples of a fantasy series that built its readership first through social media and self-publishing rather than traditional acquisition.
