Overview

An American teenager wandering in the woods is pulled into Mythgarthr, the middle world of a Norse-derived seven-world cosmology, and is transformed by a forest spirit into an adult knight's body long before he has earned a knight's character, forcing him to grow into the role across two volumes. Gene Wolfe's second universe in this canon (alongside The Book of the New Sun), confirmed a wholly separate setting with no shared characters or continuity.
