Rebecca Ross is an American author of young adult and adult fantasy fiction. She studied at the University of North Georgia, formerly Gainesville State College, initially pursuing nutrition and dietetics before transferring to the University of Georgia, where she graduated with a degree in English. Before her writing career, Ross worked at a Colorado dude ranch and as a librarian. She has been publishing novels since 2015, drawing literary influence from Jane Austen, Juliet Marillier, Melina Marchetta, and the folktale "East o' the Sun, West o' the Moon." Her breakout success came with the Letters of Enchantment duology, comprising Divine Rivals (2023), which spent twenty-nine weeks on the New York Times Young Adult Hardcover bestseller list, and Ruthless Vows (2024), which debuted at number one on the same list. She also wrote the Elements of Cadence duology, A River Enchanted and A Fire Endless, as well as The Queen's Rising, Sisters of Sword and Song, and Dreams Lie Beneath. Ross's fiction typically blends romance with lyrical, folklore-inflected fantasy settings. She currently lives in northeast Georgia, where much of her recent work has been written.
