Synopsis
Still an outcast from his family in the second Secret Histories novel, Eddie Drood is drawn into a plot involving ancient supernatural forces referred to as demons, whose return threatens catastrophic consequences for the hidden world the Droods have long policed. Eddie must work with his formidable grandmother, the Matriarch, and other family members to confront a scheme that reaches back into the family's own history and secrets they have kept even from their own agents. Navigating uneasy alliances with former enemies and untrustworthy allies from London's hidden supernatural underworld, Eddie is forced to weigh loyalty to his family against the terrible bargains its past leaders may have made, while facing an enemy whose power could unravel the fragile peace the Droods maintain over the world's darker corners.
