Synopsis
The House War begins at the close of The Sun Sword, and House Name tells that story. It follows Jewel, the most popular character of the earlier series, an orphan from Averalaan's slums who survived the demons of the Undercity and rose to a key role in House Terafin. In the merchant House that has taken her in, Jewel is now seen as the likely heir to its leader, and the rivalries around her are growing. Outside the walls, the demons who once stirred beneath the city are not finished. Jewel must hold together her den-kin and the House itself as the war in the Dominion reaches Averalaan.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
