Overview

Inês Botelho's trilogy (2002-2005), begun when she was fifteen and completed at nineteen, was one of the works that opened the 2000s wave of Portuguese fantasy, alongside Filipe Faria's Allaryia. It is set in Caladmiron, a world where nature has a soul and elves, fairies, dwarves and gnomes defend the Lands of Light against the darkness of Morgriff. A Filha dos Mundos follows Iruvienne, daughter of two worlds, to the Lands of Light, the elf Edínmtor and the throne she was born to; A Senhora da Noite e das Brumas brings Morgriff's return and invasion; A Rainha das Terras da Luz, six years into her reign, puts the fate of Caladmiron in the young queen's hands.
