Overview

Jennifer Roberson's Sword-Dancer saga (1986-) is sword and sorcery told in the sardonic first person of Tiger, the Sandtiger, a Southron sword-dancer, a professional duellist for hire in the ritual circle, who takes on a job for Del, a Northern sword-singer whose blade carries a soul-magic of its own, and never quite gets rid of her. The first six novels (1986-2002) carry the two across the desert South and the frozen North, through Del's vengeance, Tiger's broken oaths and exile, and the long mystery of his origins, to what was meant to be the end; Sword-Bound (2013) and Sword-Bearer (2022) return to them in semi-retirement with a daughter, a school and a grown son, and a ninth book has been mentioned. A separate world from Roberson's Chronicles of the Cheysuli.
