Overview
The Watershed Trilogy is a fantasy series by American author Douglas Niles, published by Ace from 1995 to 1997. Mountains called the Watershed divide the setting into three basins: Dalethica, the ordinary human land, Faerine, where a pure magic called Aura is found, and Duloth-Trol, the land of an evil magic called Darkblood, ruled by the god Dassadec. The mountaineer Rudy Appenfell, who drinks water from all three lands, becomes the Man of Three Waters and, with the warrior Raine and others, opposes Dassadec. The three novels form one continuous story and are complete. Niles wrote his later Seven Circles books in a separate cosmos.
