Overview
A single-author epic-fantasy setting: the city of Imardin in the land of Kyralia, ruled by a powerful Magicians' Guild that maintains a magical barrier around its slums. The Black Magician Trilogy (2001-2003) follows Sonea, a slum-dwelling street girl whose latent magical power breaches that barrier and gets her conscripted into the Guild she once feared. The Magician's Apprentice (2009) is a standalone prequel set roughly two decades earlier, and The Traitor Spy Trilogy (2010-2011) continues Sonea's story a generation later. All three works share one continuous setting, per the author's own site.
