Overview

Sandra Carvalho's eight-volume saga (Editorial Presença, 2005-2013) made her one of the first women to make a name in Portuguese fantasy and the first Portuguese author in Presença's Via Láctea collection. It begins in an age when the Druids keep the Knowledge of the Magical Beings and the sorceress Aranwen, having renounced her power to marry a mortal, has imprisoned it in seven magic stones, guarded by a pact of love and blood sealed in the Stone of Time. A Última Feiticeira and O Guerreiro Lobo follow the young sorceress Catelyn and the Wolf Warrior Throst; the middle volumes their three daughters, Edwina, Thora and Freya, in a war against the darkness spreading over the North of the World; and the last three their granddaughter Kelda, Priestess of the Cliffs, and Halvard, the Son of the Dragon, as the saga closes on the White Night.
