Overview

Achaja is a Polish fantasy cycle by Andrzej Ziemiański, published by Fabryka Słów. The first trilogy (2002-2004) follows Achaja, the firstborn daughter of a Great Duke, who is sent to the army, enslaved by the enemy state of Luan and trains as a swordswoman before rising to legend. Its sequel, Pomnik Cesarzowej Achai (2012 onward), is set a thousand years later, when an alternate-history Poland finds technology that lets it enter the Renaissance-era world of Achaja. A prequel series, Virion (2017-2025), follows secondary characters from the first trilogy. New volumes were still appearing in 2025.
