Overview
The Elenium Universe comprises David Eddings' second fully realized fantasy world, the Elenium trilogy and its direct sequel the Tamuli, following the knight Sparhawk as he investigates the poisoning of his queen and uncovers a wider conspiracy threatening her kingdom. The Diamond Throne (1989), The Ruby Knight (1990), and The Sapphire Rose (1991) form the Elenium proper, while Domes of Fire (1992), The Shining Ones (1993), and The Hidden City (1994) continue the same characters into the Tamuli, a wider world beyond the Elenium's borders. The setting reuses Eddings' familiar structure of a close-knit fellowship, a religiously organized knightly order, and a quest built around royal succession and hidden magic, distinct from but stylistically close to his earlier Belgariad. All six original editions credit David Eddings solely, predating his wife Leigh Eddings' 1995 crediting start on his subsequent series, and the setting is confirmed separate from the Belgariad Universe.
