Overview
Simon Tregarth, a modern-day soldier with nothing left to lose, escapes through an ancient standing-stone gate, the Siege Perilous, into Estcarp: a dying secondary world of witchcraft, ancient bloodlines, and invading technological empires. Andre Norton's second universe in this canon (alongside The Halfblood Chronicles, co-authored with Mercedes Lackey), confirmed a wholly separate setting with no shared characters or geography. This entry covers only the original Estcarp Cycle (1963-1968), following Tregarth and then his own children across a continuous storyline; Norton's much wider Witch World catalogue, spanning decades and eventually other authors, is deliberately out of scope.
